I started coming to Bodywise after years of back pain. I was diagnosed with degenerative changes in my spine, and bulging discs. Megan discovered the cause was my leg length difference. With her help, I have avoided surgery, and I’m pain free! I have an active, normal life thanks to Bodywise. Thanks!

Healthy body begins with alignment and Balance. Have you ever thought your legs were different lengths? Over my 32 years experience, I have found that 90+ percent of people have a difference in their leg lengths. This makes sense when you think about how nothing is our bodies is exactly symmetrical. Thats not a big deal when its our eyes. or your hands, but when its your structure, your very foundation, it makes a difference! You wouldn’t build build a house on un-level ground right? walls would start crack, doors and windows would get jammed up. The same thing happens in your body. When we walk around with one leg slightly longer than the other, our bodies adapt… we turn out one leg, habitually lock one leg and bend another, the pelvis gets rotated. the spine shifts, and twists creating excessive pressure on the disc, and the list goes on.
LLD can cause:
-
chronic back pain
-
lumbar instability
-
SIJ dysfunction
-
knee pain
-
ACL tear
-
ankle pain
-
hip pain
-
neck pain
-
headaches/TMJ
-
difficulty balancing
-
pelvic floor dysfunction
The treatment is simple. We begin with an assessment of your habitual alignment, noticing compensatory patterns. Next we address the chronic, asymmetric, adaptive myofascial restrictions with manual interventions. You’ll be instructed in very specific isolated stretching techniques, and motor patterning to build strength and balance in your body. Finally we place a lift in the shoe of your shorter leg. Most clients notice they feel “normal for the first time” or “home in my body”. If you have chronic pain on one side of your body, or simply suspect you have a leg length difference, contact us to schedule an assessment with Megan Moseley PT .
